How do I verify Google Search Console with DNS?
Verification
DNS verification is required for Domain properties and works across all subdomains. Steps:
- In Search Console, copy the TXT record value provided (it looks like
google-site-verification=abc123...) - Log into your domain registrar (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
- Navigate to DNS settings for your domain
- Add a new TXT record with Host/Name set to
@and Value set to the copied code - Save, then return to Search Console and click Verify
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though it usually happens within a few minutes to a few hours.
How AutoPSEO helps
Verification only needs to happen once per property. After that, AutoPSEO can see the property immediately: sign in with the Google account that owns it, tick the property on the My Sites page and the dashboard fills up with the last 16 months of data within a minute.
