How do I set up Google Search Console for Shopify?
Getting Started
- In Search Console, add your store URL as a URL prefix property
- Choose HTML tag as the verification method and copy the meta tag
- In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit Code
- Open
theme.liquidand paste the meta tag inside the<head>section - Save the file, then click Verify in Search Console
- Submit your sitemap at
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml(Shopify generates this automatically)
How AutoPSEO helps
Once your property is verified, connect it to AutoPSEO with the same Google account. AutoPSEO reads the property through Google’s Search Console API (read-only), keeps a 10-year history for stored properties and turns the raw rows into striking-distance, content-decay and CTR reports without any spreadsheet work.
